Sarah Brown is a highly respected charity law expert and the founder of Sarah Brown Charity Law WS. With over two decades of experience, she is one of only eight solicitors in Scotland accredited as a specialist in charity law by the Law Society of Scotland.

Her career includes being a former partner at J & H Mitchell WS, where she led the Charities and Communities Team. Sarah is known for her expertise in setting up, modernising, and reorganising charity structures, providing clear and practical advice tailored to each charity’s needs.

She has built a significant portfolio of charity clients across various sectors and has extensive experience in charity governance. Sarah frequently delivers training sessions for charities, speaks at industry events, and leads webinars. She also serves on the Board of three charities and contributes to working parties on charity law issues.

Sarah currently leads the WS Society Charity and Third Sector Special Interest Group.

Sarah is also a member of the Law Society of Scotland Wellbeing steering group. Everyone in the steering group are passionate advocates for improving wellbeing and are focused on influencing the Law Society of Scotland to be an innovator in this area by delivering best-practice support to its members.
